International mobility
Moving abroad
What if you could earn your engineering degree somewhere other than France?
You may be wondering whether studying abroad during your studies is truly accessible, or reserved for a handful of students who are already bilingual. At 3iL Ingénieurs, it’s not just a niche option: it’s a program designed to suit every student and their career goals, thanks to our network of some 40 international partners.
Four options, depending on your project
Erasmus+ : a semester of study in Europe (and beyond)
This program allows you to spend a semester studying at a 3iL partner institution that is a member of the Erasmus+ Charter. Thanks to the harmonization of ECTS credits, the courses you complete there will also count toward your semester at 3iL. This program is ideal for a first international experience, with the possibility of a scholarship and tuition waiver.
Language Study Adroad Programs : improve your english before graduation
Proficiency in English has become essential for a career in engineering: you must pass the TOEIC (currently 785 points) to be eligible for your engineering degree. If your English needs a boost, we offer immersive language programs: refresher and advanced courses lasting at least 4 weeks at one of Ireland’s most prestigious universities, with accommodation primarily in host families.
Study abroad programs (Non-ERASMUS) : south America, Canada, Asia
You also have the opportunity to spend a semester studying at one of our partner universities in South America, Canada, or Asia. This program allows you to take courses that complement our own curriculum and to have your semester recognized through credit equivalency. A mobility assistance program, established by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, provides support to students who choose this path.
Double degree : taking your education further in a different academic setting
This program is for you if you have strong academic performance and are interested in pursuing additional training beyond what 3iL offers. The goal is to take new courses at another university in place of your final year of study, to add new skills to your profile. You’ll also spend more time abroad, which allows you to immerse yourself in a new culture and, in some cases, secure an end-of-studies internship there. A mobility assistance program, led by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, also supports this option.
What if your work-study program could also take place in Montreal or Bucharest?
Many students think that choosing a work-study program means giving up the chance to go far away. At 3iL, the opposite is true: your work-study program can lead you to a double degree in Canada or Romania, in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or big data. An internationally recognized double degree, without ever losing sight of your company contract.
This is truly rare: very few engineering schools in France allow their work-study students to go this far internationally. Here, it’s not some special privilege reserved for a select few: it’s a path designed to fit seamlessly into your academic journey, no matter where you are.
